Importance of your heart

If you were to ask my 9 year old what the heart does she would tell you it pumps blood. Then she would go on to tell you what the brain, muscles, bones and lungs jobs are. When I have done DDP Yoga in the past I can feel the burn... But it wasn't until I was wearing my new heart rate monitor this morning that I realized I wasn't engaging all that much. My heart wasn't getting to the "fat burn zone". As I was watching my heart rate this morning I started pushing myself to get into that zone. HOLY MOLY!! I think I just fell deeper in love with this program! Now, I know there are some out there that believe that the fat burn zone is a myth or you don't burn as many calories in a low-intensity work-out. That is fine. This is all just my opinion. I think when you are in the fat burning zone you are burning a higher percentage of fat calories. It takes a longer time and more oxygen to burn those. Your overall calorie burn will be low. But I feel that pairing this long, low-intensity work-out with a healthy food plan can bring great results!

  1. It's also much more manageable and beneficial for people starting off at the beginning or with joint and inflammation issues. Such an amazing program
